A study of a lily.

Canon 40D, Sigma 70 -300 zoom with close up lens.

I wanted to to capture the exotic nature of the lily, and indeed on looking closely it is a very exotic flower.

The strange polyps on the petals and their scaly appearance on close up along with the extremely tenuous connection of the stamens give an almost alien look to the flower.

As everyone knows the stamens are absolutely loaded with pollen and the texture of this is very obvious from the close ups.
